About the Baha'i Faith2.jpg

Welcome to the Coquitlam Bahá'i Community

In neighbourhoods across Coquitlam, Bahá’ís and their friends are striving to build a community that weaves together both the material and spiritual necessities of life. Their efforts are inspired by Bahá’u’lláh, the most recent in the series of Divine Messengers sent by God to bring humanity to the next stage of its development.

Bahá’u’lláh’s teachings assert that, regardless of race, gender, class or creed, all humans are noble beings and have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization.

The Bahá’í Faith is a world religion based on the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh (meaning “the Glory of God”). Bahá’ís view religion as a progressive and evolving process which needs to be periodically updated and revitalized as humanity develops mentally, socially and materially. Bahá’ís believe that throughout history, God has sent to humanity a series of divine Educators—known as Manifestations of God—whose teachings have provided the basis for the advancement of civilization.

These Manifestations have included Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad. Bahá’u’lláh, the latest of these Messengers, explained that the religions of the world come from the same Source and are in essence successive chapters of one religion from God.
