Becoming a Bahá’i
Anyone can become a Baha’i. The Coquitlam Baha’i Community welcomes new members.
The process is a very personal experience that comes after an individual investigation. It is a heartfelt decision to recognize Baha’u’llah as the Manifestation of God for this age, strive to live life in accordance with the Baha’i laws and teachings and join the Baha’i community in its efforts to contribute to a better world.
Being a member of the Baha’i community entails participation in community decision-making. Adult Baha’is are eligible to vote for and be elected to serve on Baha’i institutions. In Canada, people who wish to become members of the Baha’i community can do so by contacting their community’s Local Spiritual Assembly, the local administrative members of the community. The Assembly will meet with the individual to answer any questions and make sure they understand the significance of the step they are taking.
If you reside in Coquitlam BC, then we would love to meet with you to guide you through your journey. Please contact us through the contact form below. If you live outside of the Coquitlam area then we encourage you to contact the Bahá’í Community of Canada to guide you to the closest Bahá’í community.
